7 weeks of Keto
It's been 6 weeks since I started Ketogenic life style. Here is the link → for my 1st week, my 2nd week, my 3rd week, my 4th week., my 5th week and my 6th week. No weight change last week. I felt bloated and constipated first half of week but last half of week was pretty normal. I finally finished readng Dr. Berg's book. I was really focused on my weight but I won't lose weight unless my sleep, hormone balance, constipation and bloating are improved. So I need to focus on these issues before my weight loss.
I was trying to eat more raw cruciferous vegetables so I started powergreen smoothies as well as massive amount of salad... but I learned that sudden changes in consuming massive amount of raw cruciferous veggies may cause bloating and constipation. It was eye opening because I never thought that powergreens and kales (with lots of fiber) cause bloating and constipation. But sure enough, I stopped them and switched to spinach and arugula (half raw and cooked) ... then I already felt much better. I am going to listen to my body and test it out.
I baked keto lemon cake last week ↑. It's not chocolate...I swear it was lemon! Burnt a little...(or lot?) I used half portion of original recipe but I did same baking time...new baker mistake! Cheesecake frosting was runny, too. It didn't come out great but it was moist and yum...! I also got some new sweets...simply lite chocolates (which was in the Dr. Berg's book) from traders joes and "quest" protein bar. Chocolates are so delicious and I already got another one. I am so excited that I can still eat chocolate on keto life!
For my digestion, I got some Organic Sauerkraut at Costco. I got jicama wraps from Traders Joes, too. I used them as Tacos (wrap). It was not exactly the same as tortilla but it was crunchy and worked pretty good as Taco wrap. I thought that I would be more restricted because of Keto but I am more open minded for new ingredients now. It's fun to try something new and good for me and if it turns out pretty yum, it's a big plus, too.
I cooked a lot but also bought some ready to eat foods as well as take out from restaurants. Combined all...it was pretty fun and easy. I am looking forward to eating more keto this week~♪
