Bambi's leg and Day 31 of San Francisco Shelter in Life
It's Day 31 of San Francisco Shelter in order. Last few days Bambi's back leg is hurting so she was resting all day yesterday. She is still limping this morning so it will be another home rest-up day today. Walking with Bambi is very important for both of us especially at stay at home life but the resting is the most effective way to heal. She is limping and sometimes tumbling (falling) other than that she has great appetite and spirit. Since I am home all day, I follow her around when she is awake. I became more like a bodygurad mom than her nurse mom. She slept almost 20 hours yesterday though... Poor Bambi must have pain.
She had a pattelar surgery for her both back legs when she was a puppy. Her surgery was the best decisions we could have made. With her severe bad legs and bad back, she wouldn't be able to walk without surgery by now (she is 12 years old now). She has arthritis so we give her treats with some supplements and we always carry her on the stairs to prevent further damage and prolong her ability to walk.
Bambi has had high pain tolerance and would rarely wimper. Almighty little Bambi was walking even when she had really bad legs before surgery. Vet was surprised that she could run with her legs at that time. I know I am an over protective mom. I am also proud of that because she can't express her pain in word and she rarely shows her pain.
Hopefully, she will be better tomorrow and can enjoy weekend walk!
