Chihuahua' s Age
Bambi turned 12 this March. I know for dogs, 12 is a senior age. Is Bambi really a senior pup? Usually, small dog breed live longer than big dog breed. So I checked. Chihuahua 12 years old is 61 years old in human age. The oldest Chihuahua was about 21 so she is not too old. Lately, she has so much accident (pee and poop). She was perfect since she was a puppy. We praise her every time she uses her pad so that she is very happy to use them.
I witnessed that she ran to her pad and right before she reached it...she peed! As if she couldn't hold it anymore. She couldn't hold maybe because she is too old or because she waited until the last minute. Maybe both. Because of shelter in place order, I am home with her all the time. When I am with her, she attaches to me like a monkey baby. She doesn't want to go without me anywhere even for her pee. So now I am trying to take her to pee to remind her to do her business on her pee pad. I praise her when she doesn't have an accident. Her pee pee training all over again...and now it's harder.
Bambi is not too old now but definitely she is entering her senior life. I really don't care if she has perfect pee pee training, I want her to live a long and happy life with me. That's all that matters. I can handle her little pee and poop anytime!
