It's Day 48 of San Francisco Shelter in Place order and it's Bambi's friend Ellie (silky terrier)'s birthday & adoptsary!!! Ellie came to my dearest friend L one year ago today from shelter. We don't know her birthday so today adoptsary day 5/6 became her birthday. She came to the best home. L loves Ellie dearly 💛
At first Ellie was not interested in other doggies but now she has many doggie friends. She loves to play with them and she is really good with Bambi (chihuahua) who is not too friendly with other pups. Bambi has a friend to walk with now and I am so happy about it. I really love Ellie and so thankful that she came to L's forever home. Happy Birthday and Adoptsary Ellie!

Day 45 of San Francisco Shelter in Life
It's Day 45 of San Francisco Shelter in Place order and 1st day of May!!! I have to admit that one of my favorite activities during staying home life is food. I love cooking, eating and watching foodie shows 💛 I have been stress eating so comfort food was my "comfort" lately. I weigh myself everyday so I knew my weight is creeping up gradually but I pretended not to notice.... but I gained 10 pounds now and I can't ignore it any longer. sigh... I got to do something about out of control food cravings!
Bambi's papa told me that Bambi seems heavy. She goes walking everyday with me but definitely she is eating more lately. So I weigh Bambi today, too. She was 3.9 lb and she didn't gain weight at all. Yay for her! She doesn't need to go on a diet.
May has just started and summer is coming. So it's great timing. I can't do any extreme dieting any more so my first week strategies are only three things. 1. Drink lots of water (at least 1.5ℓ = 3 bottles including decafe teas) 2. Intermittent fasting (8 hours eating time and 16 hours fasting) 3. At least one hour daily exercise. Main goal is to control my non-stop food cravings so #2 will be the most difficult for this week. Let's see how it goes. The above picture is my first meal today at 1pm. Overnight Oats (organic oats, coconuts milk, banana, blueberries and rasberries sweetened with monk fruit sugar substitute) Many people might have the same problem as me.... if you are gaining, let's go back to a healthier lifestyle!

Day 43 of San Francisco Shelter in Life
It's Day 43 of San Francisco Shelter in Place order. Shelter in Place...it's really hard for homeless people because most of them don't have shelter. Corona virus became a very serious problem among homeless people. Recently, many tents appeared all over town. Most tents looks new and the same brand so they must be provided or donated for their shelters. It's great but they can't stay in tent all day so I am not sure how effective they are. All camp sites are closed now because of this pandemic. Ironically, all over the city became a camp site instead.
Besides these tent, many hotels provide their rooms and food to homeless people which means they get nice beds, meals 3 times a day, cable TV and internet access. I read that many of them are very happy about this pandemic situation!
Talking about blessing in disguise, doggies and kitties are also very happy to spend time with their favorite family at home. Of course, Bambi (chihuahua) is one of them! She spends all day with me and she goes on long walks everyday. I used to take only 1~2 days off per month and lots of overnight jobs so this is really precious time for me, too. I needed more time with Bambi... I think lots of (human or furry baby's) parents got the same chance like me. Enjoy!!!

Day 42 of San Francisco Shelter in Life
It's Day 42 of San Francisco Shelter in Place order. Mayor announced that San Francisco shelter in place will continue until the end of May. That means one more month. I expected that...so it was no surprise though. I just wonder what will come next... The future is so unknown well I guess it always is and should be.
During Bambi's walk the other day, we met "Ninja girl" with her beautiful white dog. Covering your face outside is now mandatory in SF so Ninja girl is perfect 👍 I had a really stressful morning, so I went bike riding with my girl Bambi (chihuahua). Always fun going out with my baby. It was really nice outside. This is my way to de-stress right now.
I usually put her blanket and Bambi in the basket but today I put her dog carry in the basket. It's more secure and safe. She pulled her head out and checked out the view. She is becoming good as my co-pilot!

Bambi papa's Birthday ★
It's Day 41st of San Francisco Shelter in Place order and yesterday was Bambi (Chihuahua)'s papa's birthday. Usually, we go out on his birthday but we got to stay home! Some restaurants are still open and do business "take-out" only. We decided to take out from very popular Burmese restaurant Burma★Love. I walk Bambi everyday and see some restaurants are closed down (not temporarily more like permanently with "for sale" sign and all). The impact from the lock down and shelter in place order is huge for local restaurants. I would like to support by take-out or delivery more often but I too lost income as a freelancer because of COVID-19. I try to save some money by cooking at home but it's a special occasion!
Bambi's gift is always her kisses and love. We are happy if she is happy. I appreciate all of us are healthy and celebrated his birthday together. Take-out food birthday was not bad at all. It was very relaxing and Bambi could be with us (even though she couldn't have Burmese food). It's pretty awesome that we could eat delicious food from popular restaurant at home!
I am thankful Burma★Love and other restaurants keep providing us yummy food in this pandemic time. We enjoyed their delicious Tea Leaf Salad (so good!) and all. Sometimes, little things make our day and food is definitely one of them. Happy Birthday honey and you are the BEST papa for Bambi ♥♥♥

Day 38th of San Francisco Shelter in Life
It's Day 38th of San Francisco Shelter in Place order. Walking with Bambi is a big part of the staying home life for both of us and today was very special. It was a really beautiful summer like day! I can feel summer is coming in the air. Bambi was enjoying some sun, too. I can always tell from her behind profile. Her ears stands up like 45 degrees inward. So funny and so cute ♥ I love watching her from behind.
I am with her about 12 years but still I am surprised how cute she is everyday! Sounds so silly but so true. I know she is not a show dog ... she has a very hunched back, wobbly legs and no tail (stub)! All these features make her very special. She is the cutest and most beautiful pup I know ♥
I know I am super biased and crazy dog mama. But strangers who we meet during our walk tell me how cute Bambi is everyday. It makes me happy! If you see cute pups on the street, let them know how you feel. I bet that makes all dog parents happy. With social distance...tell them from 6 feet apart!

Day 37th of San Francisco Shelter in LIfe
It's Day 37th of San Francisco Shelter in Place order. It's the 37th day! Which means...37 days all day everyday together with Bambi (Chihuahua). Yet, every morning everyday... Bambi comes to snuggle, our happy morning routine. She wags her tush and pushes her head to me and rolls all her body on my lap. She never gets tired of this routine after all these years and all day together. She shows me her love everyday every morning. When I say good morning to Bambi, every morning becomes a very special morning.
Life with Bambi is special everyday. Bambi's little head is filled with happiness and love. We have so much sad news lately... It's hard to stay positive and happy at times. But her happiness is infectious. She is ALWAYS happy!
I can't imagine life without Bambi. I heard that lots of people are welcoming new doggies and kitties to their family during this stay at home life. It's really great news! I also heard that liquor and marijuana sales rose as well. I bet liquor or marijuana works just fine but having dogs or cats work 100 times better!
